Mission:  Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

Our Vision:   To allow women and girls to have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dream.

Our club supports women and girls living throughout San Mateo County and we fundraise to provide support to our Dream Programs.

We have given cash grants to the "Live Your Dream: Education and Training Award" recipients from our fundraising activities.  These cash grants help women who are the primary financial support for their families to obtain skills necessary to improve their employment status and standard of living for themselves and their family.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Soroptimist International is a worldwide organization for professional women who work through service projects to advance the status of women and human rights for all.  We are a global voice for women through awareness, advocacy and action.  The organization was founded in 1921 by a group of 80 women in Alameda County, California.  They chose their name from two Latin words meaning "best for women".

Soroptimist members belong to local clubs, which determine the focus of volunteer work to their communities. Our club is Soroptimist International of North San Mateo County and we focus on issues such as domestic violence, poverty, self-esteem, addiction, literacy, and other challenges that today’s women and girls are facing.
